  Absolutely exact measurements are impossible to obtain in measuring technology. In addition to systematic errors such as the characteristic curve deviation, there are also errors that occur with the passing of time. This effect is called drift. A typical example is long-term drift in pressure gauges where the result changes over the course of time due to ageing of components or other effects.
